Just wanted to let all of you know that I will be moving over to Specdive Tactical in Alexandria. My last full day at Blue Ridge Arsenal will be this Friday, Oct, 2nd. I have had a great time working at BRA, and thank them for bringing me on back in 2013. I will be setting up the new shop for the next 2 wks after I leave BRA, but will still be available to do small jobs and give shop tours. The shop will be approximately 1000sq ft with an indoor paint booth and hopefully a laser engraver within the next 5 months. Feel free to call me at the shop or IM me here. I felt is was time to make a move, and it all came together by chance.

New building. Has had his FFL for 3 plus years. Ran it out of his home.

Address is;

5710 General Washington Dr
Unit E
Alexandria, VA 22312

Right off Edsal Rd. They also do pistol and rifle training out at Echo Valley.

Good luck on the new venture..

Laser engraving...  can you go deep enough to satisfy the ATF requirements?

Well, that sucks.  For my wallet.

Shorter drive probably means more trips.

Yes the laser that I a looking to purchase will do ATF approved depth. So we got all the big stuff moved. Tomorrow is small stuff and clean up old shop. Electricians are wiring up the machines. Will be swamped with setting up shop for awhile.

Laser will be after first of the year. Electrical is all done and machines are set and running. This week is cleaning and setting everything else in place. New benches are in the works. New welder is on the way. Old welder is up for sale. After all is set in place, will be starting on the paint booth.  Long days ahead to get it all done in a week plus. Still, if any of you are in the area, STOP IN!

Have you riveted and finished an AKSU 74 (SBR) before?  I've got a kit (Bulgarian, barrel included), an engraved Nodak receiver and a stamped form 1, but never got around to getting this thing finished.

Riveting is beyond my capability, and I'm not going to expierment with such an expensive bag of parts.

Yes, over 500 in the last 11 years. Most of them when I worked at Henderson Defense Industries in Las Vegas. I have all of the tooling to bend receiver flats and rivet all parts.

I'll be in touch sometime in the near future. SOT? Would there be legal problems win me leaving it with you?  It wouldn't be a problem except that I am in the Richmond area.
