Anyone know where to find AA1680?
I tried Bob's, The Armory, and Colonial Shooting.
Also looking for 30 caliber 208 grain on up bullets.

Hahahaha,

I haven't seen 1680 in stock anywhere for at least 3 years.  Well until today on commercial row at camp Perry and I bought the last 3 one pound containers.  They didstill have a few 8 lb jugs.

That is what everyone is telling me; what are people using for subsonic 300 Blackout loads?

I've seen it pop twice on gunbot over the past few months.  I had given up looking a year ago and went with h4198 and IMR 4198.  Works great for me and 2000+ rounds later, I don't plan on using anything else.

What primer, bullet, and load, if you do not mind?

Go to Macs and give him a call.   He sold me 2lbs about a year ago and I then ran across 2lb more at the Richmond raceway about a month later.  If anyone would have it he would.   I used it with Nosler 220gn HPBT and it seemed to work well.

I tried IMR4198 for .300 BO in my AR15 and it wouldn't cycle.  Were you using a bolt action rifle?

A lot of folks are using H110 (I tried it, blew several primers, so I'll use the rest for .357 magnum).  Some use Lil Gun, and another IMR powder I can't remember the name of.

For me, nothing works better in .223 than IMR4198, been using it for over 30 years.

Oh, the 300 black out rounds I've loaded with AA1680 all "ran" fine in my rifle.  Just need to figure out how to make them/it more accurate.

It have 8.5 inch SBR and both the 4198s cycle great and lockback.  I shoot 190gr SMKs.  Search online and you can find a good starting reciepe.  Buy pulled 190s online and you can reload subsonics for less than .30 a round.

BTW- Cabelas had lil gun in stock today online.  Bet it doesn't last long.....

I really only reload subsonic 300 blackout. That being said, I'd have great success with H4198 out of an AAC factory 9in upper with carbine spring + h buffer. Picks up every round, bolt hold open on last round. Umm ... and it's not a popular powder so I've been able to get 1 pounders and kegs of it locally in tidewater

I did up 150 rounds of 300 subs with H4198, 11 grains, and 208 grain AMax bullets.

Quiet through my 8.5" barrel and YHM can, all cycled and bolt held open.

Used CCI 400 primers and Winchester Small Rifles.

Did you ever find any 1680?   Where did you get the 4198?   Not sure i have that one.   Are you in Hampton Roads?

H4198 in stock at the C2 range in Va Beach, 30$ per lb. They have a variety of powders in stock. They had 208 grain A Max 30 cal as well, but are out now.
Yes, I am in Hampton Roads, Portsmouth to be exact.
