As of today, the following bills have been vetoed by Governor McAuliffe:

Senate Bill 948: Sponsored by pro-gun Senator Richard Stuart (R-28), SB 948 would prohibit the sharing of information on concealed handgun permit holders with law enforcement in states that do not have reciprocity agreements with Virginia.  This prohibits states hostile to gun ownership from going on fishing expeditions and using this information as an excuse to harass law-abiding Virginia permit holders while they are traveling out of state.

Senate Bill 1137: Sponsored by pro-gun Senator Tom Garrett (R-22), SB 1137 would prohibit local ordinances that ban concealed carry permit holders from transporting a loaded rifle or shotgun, eliminating a patchwork of inconsistent laws that are unnecessarily confusing for law-abiding citizens.

House Bill 2009: Sponsored by pro-gun Delegate Dave LaRock (R-33), HB 2009 would require that when certification of a chief law enforcement officer is required by federal law for transfer of a firearm as defined in the National Firearms Act, such certification must be provided within 60 days if the applicant is not prohibited by law from receiving the firearm.  The reforms in this bill would benefit Virginia’s law-abiding firearm owners by ensuring the process to obtain certain federally-regulated firearms, already legal in Virginia, remains fair, fact-based and objective.

Nanny Bloomberg is proud of his puppet. This is exactly why Bloomberg purchased the Governors seat here in the commonwealth.

You don't want bloomberg in your yard.  I live in NJ and work in NYC.  My wife and I are currently on the prowl for a place outside of the NY metro area and FL is a consideration.  Recently she said she wanted to consider VA.  I had no idea you had a democrat for a governor owned by MJB.

Bloomberg has hated Va with a passion for years and has done his best to try and fuck us. However, the VCDL has been able to put that bitch in his place. Mcdouchefucknuts is not the first shitty ass governor we have had (see Douchebag Warner and Obama Jizz gargler Timmay) and will not be the last. The Va GOP is run by the stupidest people in the world.

NOVA is killing Va elections but Va will prevail.

The simple fact that Gillespie (not the best candidate) was able to lead a very popular former Gov and a still fairly popular Senator Mark Douchebag Warner all night until NOVA reported in, gives me hope for VA.

Also Terry Mcdouchefucknuts outspent the ever living crap out of Cooch and barely won.

Move here, vote correctly and enjoy the history and beauty of Va.

Bloomie used to blame NYC gun crime on "easy availability of guns" in VA, to cover up how ineffective the ban in his jurisdiction was.

Well, we all knew that's what would happen.  We don't have to like it, but for one, I'm not surprised.

How about we start to do something? Lets write to our legislators to try and override the veto.

Don't forget his Tim Tebow veto...which would have allowed home school kids to play sports at the schools their parents pay property tax for.

Governor McAuliffe vetoed the following bills:

SB 948, Senator Stuart, keeps CHP holder information from being shared with states, like Maryland, which don't honor Virginia permits.  Governor gave this excuse for the veto: "This bill could unnecessarily hamper criminal investigations in other states and put our law enforcement officers at risk."

Permit holders committing crimes in other states?  Permit holders putting officers in other states at risk?  Your excuses, sir, are pure horse pucky.  Truth is, Governor, that you are NOT interested in protecting the rights of Virginia's citizens.  Quite the opposite.  You are interested in empowering states like Maryland to mistreat and entrap Virginians.

SB 1137, Senator Garrett, allows CHP holders to have a loaded long gun in their vehicle regardless of what a local ordinance says.  Governor's excuse: "This legislation ignores long-established fire arm safety procedures and could endanger law enforcement officers in the line of duty. "

Forgetting that the Governor can't spell "firearms, " people can already carry loaded long guns in vehicles in many localities in the state and have been doing so without incident.  All this bill did was make the law consistent.  And "endangering law enforcement?"  Is that the best you can come up with, Governor?  You are sounding like a broken record.

HB 2009, Delegate LaRock, makes treatment of NFA applicants fair and equitable.  Governor's excuse:  "This bill restricts the authority of local law enforcement to make its own decisions about machine gun transfers."

No, this bill prevents ABUSE of Virginia's citizens by law enforcement.  But again, the Governor seems perfectly comfortable with abuse of Virginia's citizens.

HB 2286, Delegate Webert, makes Virginia honor firearm rights restorations from other states.  The Governor made some suggested changes, which are really a "poison pill," meant to kill the bill, not improve it.   The Governor's changes would take away a person's gun rights for certain MISDEMEANORS (something that the General Assembly has already rejected) and it would prevent a Virginia resident from getting their gun rights restored for a minimum of five years after their conviction.

SB 848, Senator Stanley, creates the "Governor's Twenty" marksmanship awards, Governor wants it to be called "Commonwealth's Twenty" instead.

ROFLMAO!  I knew the Governor would not want to be associated with an award for gun owners.  I just didn't know how he was going to get around it until now.  He would have been so much happier in anti-gun, communist, New Jersey than he is here in Virginia.

HB 1702, Delegate DeSteph, allows a dealer to run background checks on people he sells guns to from his person collection.  The Governor added a poison pill to this bill, too.  He added a requirement for gun shows to provide space to the Virginia State Police for the purpose of running background checks on purchasers who are buying from a private seller.  The bill has the following wording: "...any party involved in the transaction [background check on the purchaser] may decide whether or not to have a determination made under this subsection."  What does that mean?  That's as clear as mud.  So if a purchaser doesn't want a background check run on himself, but the seller does want that background check run, who gets their way?

The Governor did sign one pro-gun bill in this batch:

HB 2015, Delegate Surovell, changes the bankruptcy law from allowing a person to keep one gun valued at no more than $3,000, to any number of guns as long as their total value doesn't exceed $3,000.

I hit the VCDL link for both.

Here is the responses I got:

Thank you for your e-mail.  Please know that I share your concerns about the
Governor's amendments to House Bill 1673 and Senate Bill 965.  I expect that these
amendments will be thoroughly debated when we return to Richmond later this month.

Again, thank you for writing.

Delegate, 30th District

Thank you for your e-mail.  By his actions, Governor McAuliffe has confirmed that he is
not a supporter of the rights of law-abiding gun owners.  This is not surprising given
sentiments that he expressed when running for office.

I expect that the House of Delegates will work to reverse his actions where practical
and am glad to support these measures which I supported earlier this year.  Again, thank
you for writing.
