After doing some shooting with a new purchase, I noticed some damage to the rim of the buffer symptomatic of a buffer detainer hole drilled too far back.

Here's a look at two lower receivers, "normal" on the left and the one with issues on the right:

Found this solution to the problem on c3junkie which seems like the best option, especially so considering I already have a PWS buffer tube.

Anyone local recommended for fabricating a customer retainer based on the pics and link above? Prefer to pickup, install and test out without needing to ship anything. Doesn't need to be somebody who's a licensed gunsmith, just a competent machinist. I'm in the Chantilly area. Not interested in supporting any local businesses who support anti-gun politicians.

the lwrc retainer looks pretty beefy but why not just remove your retainer and spring.   it's not needed for operation , it's just to make separating the upper and lower easier.
