Good firm/lawyer here in NoVA to set one up with? Figure I should get on this as I'm looking to start getting in to the NFA game.

You have two really solid options here in VA.

I used John Pierce -

$100 flat fee.  Lifetime free schedule-A additions and consultations (questions).  I had my trust completed, notarized and all done in about 24 hours.  He even got on the phone with me and walked me through my first eForm1.  Great service.

There is also Arsenal Attorneys.  A little more expensive up front, but you can't meet a better, more supportive guy than Matt Bergstrom.  I've heard he's incredibly thorough and top notch service as well.  I can only speak second hand about AA, but I would use them with confidence.

Either of these will serve you very, very well in your trust dealings.

Another vote for Aresenal Attorney. Great guy to deal with and very thought out trust with valuable info on how to use the trust. Highly recommend them.

I just started the process with John Pierce this morning.

He replied quickly to my e-mail, and we have a phone conversation arranged for later tonight.

I'll keep you posted on how it goes, but I've talked to several people that have used him before, and all speak highly of his service.

Take care,
Bob S.

In my experience, it was like he was sitting in the chair next to me.  Very pleased with his service.

Ya, dbrowne was really thorough, and painless. I needed to consider my daughters and their husbands when developing my trust. Spent whatever time I needed on the phone. He was good and quick. Recommend.

I went with John Pierce as well.  I sent him an email Sunday morning thinking he would not get to it until Monday.  He called me at noon Sunday and by 9 he had an email out with the trust.  I decided to have a few lawyer friends of mine (who do not do trusts) look it over and they agreed that it was very thought out and precise.  I highly recommend him!

I used John Pierce. I sent him an e-mail on Firiday morning about 9ish. He called me at noon and we conducted the interview right then. I had the trust in my inbox on Saturday before noon. 24 hour turnaround and he is very knowledgeable about the NFA and ATF rules and opinions. Check out his website   www.johnpierceesq.com

OK - John Pierce called just after 6pm, and we had talk about what I wanted the trust for, who I wanted on it, etc...

A little after 9pm, he called me back to tell me my trust was just e-mailed to me, and what my next steps should be - after I get it notarized tomorrow, I'll be set to start adding "things".

John told me any changes to the list of trustees or schedule A would be done at no-charge. If I have ANY questions, he's just a phone call or e-mail away.

All in all - a very easy fellow to deal with.

I'm not trying to get into a "my lawyer is better than your lawyer fight" - just saying what I went through, and I'm very happy with my dealings so far.

Take care,
Bob S.

Are these trusts proprietary or copywritten to the lawyer?

It would be nice to read a REDACTED one (all personal and item info removed) and compare it to a generic one posted by a gun group for public use.

I don't see that happening. If a redacted one was posted, no one would need the lawyer anymore. Just copy the redacted and plug your info in and you get a free trust.

I've seen a few of the online "shells" of a trust - but not being a lawyer, and dealing with things that CAN land you in Club Fed, I chose to use a lawyer licensed in the state of Virginia to create the legal document.

Add to that the free help with questions, and changes to the trust when I need them, and it seems to me the flat rate of $100.00 is very fair.

Take care,
Bob S.

Another recommendation for AA and Matt. He and his firm are top notch. I used them for a Gun Trust.
