I would be interested in this. I have a pile of parts for an AR pistol that I haven't gotten around to starting yet. For the last "build" I just built out the lower and used a pre-built PSA upper, so I could use some help with upper assembly.

Just to clarify, is this AK or AR? (or whatever you want )

I'm good to go, I had another member ask if anyone would have one. I wouldn't mind learning though

well they are actually two precision machined cartridge blanks....you remove the extractor from the bolt and chamber the gauge.
if the "go" gauge chambers and locks into battery you are.good.
if the "no go" gauge chambers and locks into battery you have excessive headspace. As it's machined just long enough to be out of tolerance.

kinda captain caveman'ish...but it works.

So I was the one who asked about the go/no-go gauges. Thanks for the replies above!

Anyway, I've been a lurker on the forum for a while but haven't posted before. I am interested in stopping by and meeting some of you folks. Looking forward to the 11th!

Was the decision ever made to allow for a For Sale section?  I've got a barrel I'm looking to unload; a face-to-face would be less hassle than posting it on the EE and shipping it out.

Nah it's cool man, I should have planned better.  I just completely forgot about that show until the wife mentioned it last night.

I had a couple of AK flats I was donating for the party, mind if I drop them off on my way into DC?  I know one of them is spoken for by Dorang.

Hey everyone!  Ive been an Arfcom member for a while, and VA resident for the last year-ish.  Is it too late to get a slot for this build party?  Ive got a Bulgarian AK-74 sidefolder that needs to get put together.  I have zero AK building experience, but I've put a few ARs together and would be happy to bring my tools and help out with that side of things.  Id also be more than happy to bring food, beverages, etc.

also, go ahead and PM me if you are still committed to coming.

Plan will be from approx 3 til about 8 or so at the latest.

You don't have to be putting anything together. You can come to meet some people and have some food, learn some things, or just get a respectable break from the house/family. Feel free to bring any food you care to and your own drinks. I'll have an ice chest for whatever you want to throw in there. I'll be grilling up some stuff, but feel free to bring your own as well.

do barrels not have cut-outs to index the pins?

the only gas blocks I have put on didn't require drilling so I'm unfamiliar with this

Nope, you drill through the sight and notch the barrel in the process.  Each one done is unique.
