I know that gun shows are usually a sure bet but...anywhere between RVA and the Williamsburg area for decent condition .50 cal ammo cans?

Having seen the commercials for quite a while I ventured out to HSO one weekend, that was a wasted trip. They had a ton of off-the-wall sized ammo cans

and the only .50 cal cans they had looked like former urinals...

Rusted urinals.

What do you want to pay and in what condition are you looking for?

You can get new ones from AIM for $12 or so a can if you order 6 or more.    The more you buy the cheaper the shipping per can would be.

What's the ARFCOM obsession with ammo cans?

I've found a good baker's dozen at yard sales this year and never pay more than a buck or two.

Even at local flea markets they are seldom higher than $8-10 bucks.

I am going to have to go with "They are good to put ammo in".

The 30 cal ones also work well for putting caste bullets in without them getting too heavy.

I like  them simply because they are airtight and strong....and ammo is heavy.

I keep all of my ammo in them except for shotgun shells, since I reload and usually have an obscene number of AAs on the shelf.

Well hook some brothers in arms up  I would even take 40mm or 30 cal cans in good shape.

Good for taking ammo out of cardboard boxes and they stack well.

+1 on shotgun shells, been picking up 100 packs and they stack neatly.

Well, as little as possible naturally...
