I need some cover work done and a wedding ring band and none of my previous work was done here, so does anyone know a top notch artist local to NOVA?

Not NOVA, but worth the drive.

Jack Browns in Fredericksburg does amazing work.  Chance, Nate and Kenny are the only ones I have experience with, but I've not seen a bad piece come out of their shop.

I have my work done at Exposed Temptation in Manassas; http://www.exposedtattoo.com/

Ower did my work and Rooster did work on my daughter.

That's still NOVA to me - I'm in PWC.

Kelley Drake is also there and is finishing up with an amazing coverup of an older tattoo of mine that had a ton of black and dark colors in it.

Everyone that has seen it has been impressed with how he was able to hide the old ink.

I would highly recommend going to see Kelley.

Thanks for the heads up.  I've reached out to Exposed several times since Tuesday and haven't heard back.  I'll reach out to Kelley and see what's up.

He's usually there Tue-Sat, 1pm-9pm.  He books his stuff ahead a month or so, and prior clients get priority.

I literally just showed him some clip art and told him what I was looking for and he ran with it, going well beyond what I thought was possible.

His artwork is phenomenal.

I just filled out the online contact form now.  Thanks!

A little late to the party I guess. look up Tony Browning at State of the art tattoo in Winchester Va, worth the drive in my opinion.

Its a tattoo shop.  Not else much to be said.

I've only dealt with them in person/text and they are always great.

Guess so.  I really did want to drive somewhere only to find them out that day or busy and can't talk, only to have to repeat the process.  I suppose I'll just keep trying.

For this tattoo I'm having done now I have been to 5 or 6 appointments.  Each time he has stopped to answer questions for a client/prospective client.  Sucks a little as the client while you are getting inked, but its not a big deal.  A few minutes at most.

I can say don't expect to get anything done same day unless its simple.  I'm not sure about the other artists, but Kelley books his appointments about two months out I think.  My last one was the 25th of October and I couldn't get in again until Nov 25th.   That's really my fault to a degree, I only set up my first 4 appointments initially when his time to book came up.

They do have walk in days/hours, but I'm not sure about them.

Thanks Tack - just to clarify, I would NOT go to a place and let them tattoo me as a "walk-in".  That tells me a lot.  I have way too much expensive and nice looking ink to have someone hack it up.

I am in the starting process of a half sleeve with Cirque De Rouge in DC. I've been very happy so far with the consultation I had and I have an appointment scheduled in Dec.
