That Gainesville resident was right, how is it that you constantly hear this shit but nobody ever seems to get a picture? Eastern Puma = Bigfoot.

I tend to agree about most of these sightings and role my eyes when we are told it's a black panther, but there is certainly a possibility there's a big cat or 2 roaming here, pet or otherwise.  There have been confirmed puma in the East (besides FL) and even a few killed East of the Mississippi in recent years, so the Bigfoot thing isn't a good comparison.

ETA:  Ill ad that when we speak of potential puma sightings you have to understand these cats have been radio tracked traveling over 450 miles.  There's a lot more places to hide here and obviously exponentially less cats in the East, so expect come and go and then disappear if we actually have had encounters.  We've had~ 50 free roaming  bison slain Virginia in the past few years and yet I don't see anyone demanding pics  that the herd(gone wild) actually existed for  few months in Loudoun, or the few loner bison that have appeared in other counties.

Feral is the usual term.
They are 'escaped' farm animals.

Buffalo are very hard to keep confined.
They just put there head down and walk though almost any fence that blocks them.
