Do they still run you through the metal detectors on entry?

I know in the distant past they ran everyone through the metal detectors, but the last time I was there, maybe 10 years ago, they were not using them, or not on that day at least.

Was in Williamsburg a couple of weeks ago. Didn't get pat down or metal detected. They just checked bags. I dropped my knife into my pocket so the clip wouldn't show.

No detectors, bag search only.

You will get escorted out and possibly banned from the property if discovered, but that's about the extent of it.

Going for HALLOWSCREAM in a few weeks.....

To answer your question, I do know a certain LCP has ridden Verboten in the last year or so....

No, they haven't done that for years. In fact, it was a fairly short-lived practice right after 9/11. I don't think they did it for more than a couple seasons.

Thanks for the replies, not sure if I will carry, just wanted to know how they handled things now.

Be careful.  They have been known to call James City County Police.  They have been known to try and pursue any charges that are available/possible.  They have found a gun or two after they clean up the rides (davinci's cradle seems to collect a lot of loose items...).

Just there last week - will echo those noting the bag search only.

They don't even seem to do the beltline scan WDW security is known for.

Just out of legal curiousity - what were the charges, if any?

I've never carried there, but I've always been more concerned about losing a gun on a rollercoaster than any legal blowback.

carrying a gun to Busch Garden is a really bad idea IF you plan to have any fun.

If your retention isn't good enough for Alpengeist, it's certainly not good enough for carry

They've been known to fish prosthetic legs out of the river there.
