FYI, Short Pump mall is a no go for carry, concealed or otherwise. It is posted at a few of the entrances.
Good luck.

Greentop is 15 minutes from Shortpump. Degoffs is about 25 minutes in Mechanicsville. Town Police Supply is about 35-40 minutes away in Chesterfield on Hull St. Colonial Shooting Academy is a very nice facility that has a retail shop also, about 15 minutes east on Broad St.

Greentop is probably your best bet as far as distance since youre not local to Richmond. http://www.greentophuntfish.com/

I would try Colonial Shooting Academy because they have a great gun collection and it's the largest indoor range in country. Pretty wild to see if it's your first time. Right off Glenside and I64...

Colonial blows away greentops as the primary place you should visit. Greentops is a good Fishing/Hunting/Gun store, but Colonial is a shooting facility.

Go to both!

agreed

If you're looking for camo in every variety of pattern, size and shape, plus turkey calls, and spinner baits, Greentop is your place.

Otherwise, Colonial.

Greentop has the best gun inventory in the area. It used to have almost exclusively a hutning and fishing focus, but they are now selling a lot more defensive firearms. They have a good selection of AR's and other EBRs as well as pretty much any handgun you could want. They also have pretty much any imaginable kind of shotgun. The placed doesn't look like much from the outside, but they are moving into the old Gander Mountain store later this year.

CSA is a first rate indoor range. I shoot there at least once a week on my way home. They have a decent inventory of firearms and accessories, and the sales staff are polite and friendly. I think it is a really good place for folks who are new to guns and shooting. Greentop is probably better suited to the guy who already knows what he wants.

I have bought lots of guns at Town Police Supply. They are all business with an LE focus. They are an LE Glock dealer, so if you are eligible to buy blue label Glocks, that is the place to go.

Went to Colonial for the first time last night. Top tier staff, very friendly and helpful @ check in for the range, great selection in the show room and the sales folks are very friendly too. Salesman even got my back in convincing my wife that the sweet Wilson Combat should have come home with us. No fault of his, but the gun is still in the case.

Good luck.

They have those signs banning guns/knives/etc/ tucked away in the corner and only at the outside entrances, not if you go in through one of the main anchor tenants. One of which is Dick's Sporting Goods which sells ... guns and knives. Not sure how they can enforce than "rule" when one of their anchor tenants sells firearms and knives, and there are other stores there that sell knives as well. Sort of like banning ice cream at your mall and then leasing a huge space to an ice cream store and several restaurants that serve ice cream as well.

I knows, I had to look for the sign... I agree it is stupid. I only go there when the G/F has a specific place to get something from. I try and make it a habit of not supporting anti-2A places.

I know another mall that banned carry and had a Dicks. The store employee had to give you your "purchase" outside.....stupid. At least that mall wised up and allows carry now.
