bump - Instructor bio?
View Quote
I did a brief Google Search, other than a website designer and a guy with a degree in Education I found him on several firearms training sites.
One site lists him as a "Trauma / TCCC Instructor", but it also lacks a bio. Another states "Bio coming soon!" which is very different than all the others who list various military credentials.
Several of the other instructors on that site list no .Mil experience, but it's geared towards civilian training, and just because you have a DD214 doesn't mean you're high speed, low drag or have any real experience in the field <cough>
Stephen Benson <cough>.
Another site provides this information:
Shawn is a NRA Pistol instructor, Chief Range Safety Officer, Personal Protection Inside the Home and Refuse to be a Victim Instructor, fervent shooter and IPSC competitor, safe, responsible, ethical and legal gun use are my passions. Whether hand loading, practicing, studying or reviewing items, Shawn is constantly focused on guns and shooting. Staunch supporter of the Bill of Rights and very proud American.
Shawn is TCCC certified and instructs all of our civilian medical classes.
There's nobody with the name Shawn Herrin showing a valid, expired, suspended or inactive EMT or Paramedic license with the CO DPH or either lapsed or current status with NREMT.
This is not meant to mean he's a poor instructor, nor that he doesn't know TCCC concepts; it's also not a bash of the materials or the hosting agency...but I guess the idea of CME hours is out the window.
