I have an appointment at 9:30 Am on Tuesday in the area of N. Keeler Ave and West Fullerton in Chicago. Which would be fast / closer, Stay in Des Palins near OHare or near Elmhurst and take Grand to West Fullerton. I am thinking it will take me 1 hour from either area to get to my appointment on time. Any advice?

Are you going to have a car?

If not, stay near O'Hare, take the blue line L train down to that area, and there is a Logan Square blue line stop.

If you do, you could stay in either Rosemont or Elmhurst, but having had to recently contend with the Kennedy Expressway at rush hour and Interstate 294, that sucks. I've resolved to never take the highway in the morning anywhere unless necessary.  Elmhurst you could also take I290 but I personally hate the part of 290 you'd be going through, east to downtown.  It's horribly maintained, goes through some nasty neighborhoods, I avoid it unless I have to go downtown, and then I'm driving to Forest Park and hopping the blue line.

My suggestion: Stay here 20 minutes by car, 34 minutes if you take the red line from Belmont to Fullerton, and take the #74 bus.  The busses in the city compared to the west suburbs where I live run a lot frequently.
