Once this bill is dead, some will forget who chose which side on this issue.  I will not forget that SAI and RRA threw us under the bus.

SAI and RRA are dead to me, especially SAI for their manipulation of social media and banning people.

Last night the deadline for bills was extended to June 30th.

If the legislature meets every Wed in June (or can be on call), we still have to keep a watch.   Since the bill wasn't called, thoughts are they don't have the votes.

I'm unclear if they still  only need 60 votes instead of 71 in the House.  It should depend on effective date of bill I think but cant find that spelled out and there seems to be confusion.   Some have theorized they want to pass it and then use emergency rules to make it effective sooner.

Hopefully this thing just dies sooner rather than later.

They had a chance to call the bill and debate yesterday, but the sponsor declined.    Guess its a good thing likely indicating they still do not have the votes.

Hopefully this officially dies today.

Not completely unless it gets voted on  and loses.  Even with end of special sessions, it can come back in the fall ILGA veto session as I understand it.

They did offer the sponsor a second opportunity to call bill and it was declined again which I think is a good sign.

Meh...and they have again extended the date for this session

With the ILGA giving us a tax hike, the House has adjourned sessions to the call of the speaker.   As a result HB1657 has been re-referred to the rules committee which I believe means going back through a House committee and 3 readings on the floor if passed out of committee.

It may not be dead, but thats a step back!
