This is exempting big box stores, e.g. Cabelas, Walmart, etc from their licensing bill in an attempt to lessen opposition.

Remember to select the dropdown list for SFA1

And while there at witness slips, Amendment 1 is also on Judiciary agenda for SB234 and can use an opposing witness slip.  This has elements of dealer licensing that have been included.  SB234 is a shell bill so submission becomes the bill regardless of title you may see.

Tried it at my work computer and it went fine. Not sure what happened? Looks like they want to pass it anyway.

Do we think they have enough votes to override a veto assuming the house passes it and Rauner does his job correctly?

Based on the 30 yes votes, no they do not have enough to override.  I could be wrong but think the Senate needs 36 to do so (3/5 majority).   If we stop it in the House, we won't need to worry about an override.

So what do you guys who are up to speed on this think of Rock River's, Springfield Armory's and the IFMA apparent support of this bill?

Just more elitists doing what they do.

They don't give a fuck as long as it doesn't affect them.  Well, hopefully we will make it affect their pocket book.

I guess it's up to you personally on whether or not you want to support companies that are actively working against our 2a rights with your own hard money.  They are both dead to me.

I am not really confident that Rauner will veto it, honestly.

Honestly, we shouldn't even be worrying about this shit as it should be an automatic veto from a GOP governor.

An override doesn't seem likely, but I did notice that Cullerton voted no....which is "strange" to say the least.

I have zero confidence in Rauner doing the right thing.

Yes. dead to me is the phrase that came to mind when I read the story this morning.

I personally think the Governor would veto this piece of crap.  Of course, this is IL and this is politics so there are no "givens".

Valinda & I met with the Governor and his staff a couple of weeks ago and expressed our concerns about this bill.  We couldn't get a firm commitment but, I feel he will do the right thing.

Ah ok.  That makes more sense. Just glanced at the list and saw Cullerton down for a N vote and it shocked me lol.

Thanks for the clarification.

Are the two Cullertons related?  I also noticed that C&R licensees are included in this mess.
