Have a muzzleloader listed on another forum and a person contacted me asking to ship to IL.  Told him I'd look into it, and I've got a question regarding how IL classifies ML's.  I've read one place that IL is a state that considers ML's to be modern rifles and requires them to be sent to a FFL.  That was of course a person who was passing info from a "friend" and I know that kind of information is often wrong.  So to get to the point, can I legally ship a ML directly to a buyer in the state of IL?  The ML in question is a Remington 700ML.  Thanks

**Also, while trying to find IL rules I came across something on Buds that says "All Muzzleloaders/Blackpowder Firearms (handgun/long gun) Must ship to a FFL dealer.  This was in the IL restrictions.

A muzzleloader must ship to a FFL in IL. It's stupid but that is IL for you.

So it isn't just certain counties that require it instead of the state?  I've read someone say it can be done with the FOID card and DL, another place named out certain counties.

State law. It has nothing to do with counties. It is a royal pain and causes mass confusion during an ioi inspection if someone puts the muzzleloader in the bound book. Speaking as an ffl here.

Thanks for the help everyone.  Just sent it to an FFL up there.
