It looks like I may be relocating to McHenry and was wondering where is the closest place I can shoot long distance, hopefully out to a 1000yds or more.

DISCLAIMER- None of these are really close to McHenry. They are just the longest ranges I am aware of:

ISRA range in Bonfield goes out to 300 yards but I believe you need to be a member

McMiller in Eagle WI goes out to 300 yards and is open to the public

Aurora Sportsmens Club in Waterman goes out to 600 yards but you need to be a member

There is a place in Toulon that will let you shoot out to 1680 yards.
