If anyone is familiar with a reputable AK gunsmith who won't break the bank, please let me know. Thanks! It's a little bit of a drive but Done Wright Gun Repair in Crystal Lake does good builds. He built my 74 and it has around 2000 through it since I got it from him last year. I may know a few other people that may know of a gunsmith closer. Send me an email and I'll reach out. |

You could cal Breech and Barrel in Shorewood and see if he does that sort of work. Actually, email is better. He sucks at answering the phone.

I would just ship it out of state to any of the proven builders. That's what I ended up doing for two of my builds.
