I'm in the "you can't root for both teams" boat. I'm originally from NJ, so coming from the Yankees-Mets rivalry (Go Yankees!!) the Chicago split is perfectly reasonable to me. As a Cubs fan, it will take a special circumstance for me to root for the Sox. I was rooting for the Sox to lose to the Astros in 2005, but unfortunately that didn't work out so well. 
Meanwhile, the W flag is flying after the win tonight and the series is tied!

I cant root for the Cubs as a rule since Im a Cards fan, but I love baseball, baseball history, and seeing history happen. This is such an exciting World series, especially since its not going to be a sweep. I think it will go at least 6 games.
Good pitching so far, Im really looking forward to the games in Wrigley. The Cubs are going to have to win 2 out of 3 at home, and I think they can do it. |

I am a Cubs fan and very vehemently anti-Sox (I refer to the Sox as South Side Scum). So if you don't root for us, no skin off my nose! I most certainly would NOT root for the Sox!

I was always a fan of both Cubs and Sox. When we were kids my dad used to get Sox tickets from somebody he worked with so we went to more Sox games than Cubs games. I always watched and followed both teams until the big strike in 1994. After that I lost interest and stopped watching baseball until about 2001. Now I watch games sporadically.
I'm happy when both teams win and last season and this season I have gotten back into watching games because of how well the Cubs are doing. The Cubs getting into the World Series is great. I love how devoted the fans are. I think the Cubs have a great chance of winning the World Series and I will feel bad for them if they don't. They had the best record in all of baseball this season and they really put in great effort to get where they are. |

As a Sox fan, that was perhaps the most exciting WS I've seen in my lifetime. Seven games, down 3 games to 1 and fighting back, extra innings in the finale, blowing a lead, and then finally closing it out... what more could you ask for in a WS?
I wish the 05' WS had been a little more exciting. That was a straight up ass whupin'. Those are nice to watch an all, but a little drama always makes for a better story. Congrat Cubs fans. After waiting 108 years, you guys deserved that. Big time. |
