If only we could be so blessed.

When the news articles came out about the mother telling the daughter to get the knife and kill the other girl, I actually thought about this bill when they said it was a switchblade.  I did notice the first couple of reports made  reference to a switchblade and then it just became a knife.

Hopefully there will be another chance at getting the bill passed.

1        (2) The provision of paragraph (1) of subsection (a) of
2    this Section prohibiting the sale, manufacture, purchase,
3    possession, or carrying of any knife, commonly referred to
4    as a switchblade knife, which has a blade that opens
5    automatically by hand pressure applied to a button, spring
6    or other device in the handle of the knife, does not apply
7    to a person who possesses a currently valid Firearm Owner's
8    Identification Card previously issued in his or her name by
9    the Department of State Police or to a person or an entity
10    engaged in the business of selling or manufacturing
11    switchblade knives.

13    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14becoming law.".

Soooo. where are we with this?

It didn't make it out of committee.

Does it still have until the end of June?  I dont think the House has met this month with Madigan cancelling sessions.
