A coworker of mine has a troop of young boys from about 4-13 years old. She and her husband don't shoot/have guns, but aren't opposed to the idea.

She was considering some type of a youth shoot for the ones who are old enough--something with real safety instruction.

Anybody have a line on some type of shoot like this? Obviously there's Eddie Eagle online, and probably hunter safety, but that's not really what she had in mind.

I know I donate to one held in Woodford country every year, but it's a heck of a drive from Fulton county.

Any ideas?

4-H has a shooting program and I know there is a chapter that practices north of Fulton county.

Also check the range in Chillicothe.  Contact one of the officers and see if there is a youth smallbore class.  There is one in Rock Island county and I can't say enough good things about it.

4H and the Scouts  did something similar here in McDonough Co.   I can get more info on it if your interested.

Here is a list of Youth/Women's wing shooting clinics in Illinois this year.  Some of these clinics are sponsored by Pheasants Forever and are free.  Others are un-sponsored and cost $30/person.

I just checked with a friend, there is a 4-H air rifle league in Macomb.
