I sold a 30rd Beretta pistol magazine via a GunBroker auction.  I typically use the "Can we ship this to you" function on Cheaperthandirt's website to verify that the magazine is legal where the buyer lives.  In this particular case, the buyer lives in Skokie, IL.  The zip code is 60076.  CTD's website indicates that the magazine can't be shipped to that location.  Is CTD correct or not?

I would leave it up yo the buyer.  Put it in the post that by purchasing, the buyer is stating it is legal to own.  Cook county has all kind of restrictions.

The risk, however minimal, isn't worth it to me.  That's why I'm looking for the actual legalities.  I don't want to get caught up with a prosecutor who's trying to advance his/her career by creating criminals.

Skokie did pass an assault weapon ban within the time period given to municipalities after the concealed carry bill was passed.  Reading the linked article it looks like they define an assault weapon as being able to fire 15 rounds or more.

I doesnt appear that law has anything to pistols.

Also the concealed carry bill took away all municiple laws concerning handguns and gave the state sole authority so you should be good to go selling a pistol magazine.
