Yes Illinois residents can legally own AOWs unless there is a local law that would prevent ownership of one. They are not prohibited by state law.
If you make one, you have to submit a Form 1 and the tax is $200. If you buy one, you submit a Form 4 and the tax is $5. John Thomas |

I've heard that a SB Saiga could be classified as an AOW instead of a SBS but I need to verify. Has anyone else heard this?

Just to ass Destructive Devices DD's are also legal to own.

Destructive devices are not legal in Illinois. There is some question as too AOWs in Illinois such as the Serbu shorty`s for example these are technically AOWs, but may not be legal in Illinois.
