Taking the GF downtown Sunday for Chriskindlmarket and also may do some shopping

GF loves pizza so figure that's a good choice.  I'm thinking of Gino's East because that used to be my favorite, plus apparently at the Superior location you can still draw on the walls.  But I also want something relatively close to Daley Plaza or LaSalle St. Station(we're taking the train in from Midlothian.)

And...GO!

Thanks in advance.

I prefer Lou Malnotti's, don't know if one is any closer, and the vibe is quite different.

I doubt if you could go wrong in Chicago, so maybe pick something close to where you want to be, and make it a new adventure/experience/something to talk about and remember.

You know, find a local hole-in-the-wall.  Could be a gem, or something to laugh about together later.  That would make it personal, and not a cliche date.

Not only is Lou's better than Gino's, letting people draw on the wall is gross.  It's like eating in a Grant Park public toilet.

Yeah we went to a local hole-in-the wall for our first date. I miss Gino's(the one in Oak Lawn, where I grew up, is now a Panda Express.)

Lou Malnati's all the way as others have said.

That said, there is a Giordanos not too far from the LaSalle street station. It is on Jackson just east of the Sears Tower.

The Lou Malnati's on State Street is half a mile away from the LaSalle street station.

She'll love christkindle market, took my GF last friday. Good food and beer there also. Gino's is decent, but Lou's might be a little better.

But if you two wanted, you could eat at the market, then go to a nice bar after for drinks. The food at the market is like german street cart food though. It's good, but nothing fancy.

I just spent a year and a half remodeling the Neiman Marcus right next door to that Gino's location and was highly disappointed everytime we ate there. Giordano's 2 blocks west at Rush and Superior is far better, or better yet go to Epic Burger and have an awesome burger instead!

I see a portobello sandwich and a grilled cheese sandwich on the menu. Perfect for a vegetarian date. If she's not going to respect your right to eat meat, eject.

We've discussed it at length, and she's ok with me eating meat.  In fact I ate bacon for Thanksgiving breakfast with her and she had no complaints.

She's also a redhead and drives a Prius.

But she treats me well and puts up with me.

Meh.  I've never dated a redhead before. So far so good.

I walk past that one all of the time, I think it's exclusively for tourists lol
I've only been to that location once, with friends from britain who wanted pizza. Still great though.

There really was no bad choice.

Now you have an excuse for a follow up date to compare Lou's.
