Hello IL arfcommers, a bit of help for a IN guy please.

My nephew's in-laws live in small town mid Illinois, and he and his family are going to basically house sit for the weekend. If he complies with all the IL transportation rules, i.e., unloaded, cased, inaccessible location, can he have his handgun with him in the in-laws house?

The gun would stay in the house the entire time they are there, until time to return to IN.

I really could not find the answers for this situation on the stickies above, nor on the IL State Police website. And in 6 pages here nobody has addressed the issue of an out of state CCW holder staying in IL for a few days.

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Edit: Also he does have an IN LTCH.

If he has the permission of the owner, he can have loaded on the owner's property...
Transportation : his carry gun can be loaded in the vehicle with him...if gun leaves vehicle, must be unloaded and enclosed in a case.  If the permission giving owner of property has ownership of driveway, he is good to leave gun loaded from home to house to be sat upon unless he leaves the vehicle along the way.
