I will not be in Cook county, more the southern portion of the state.  I have a ccw, is this legal?

If I cannot, can I be in possession of a pistol in the vehicle?

Thanks

I copy the statute in this thread.

Please note if a NY res you must have a NY CCW.  Non-res CCW from some other
state does not comply.  It is "car carry" only. I want to make sure because I've always
heard NY is very stingy with permits.
