Just thougth that I would post that they actually were mailed.
The number is simply a 14 in front of my FOID number. |
Several reports of 'in hand' license (w/ pictures) today (Saturday) --
guess they really did approve, print, and mail them. Now to wait by the mail box. |
The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter! Congrats!
Got mine too.
Instructor that applied December 18, 2013. Live in Springfield area. Picture used was not what I sent in, but drivers license just like FOID card. Came in regular envelope with ISP return address, postmarked Feb 28, 2014. |
Hopefully I'll see mine Monday or Tuesday. WallyWalk, here I come!

Did any of you that have received your permits submit your fingerprints and digital ID ? I haven't decided if I want to spend the extra money for the digital ID.
You need the digital ID, but I don't recall it costing anything. It's the fingerprints that are optional. According to the state, not submitting prints will add 30 days to the issuance time. As far as I know, that has not yet been confirmed.

View Quote Digital ID is free and required - it can be a PITA to get but mine went right through w/o issues. Fingerprints are optional (except for instructors) - I recommend my students save the money on prints unless they have a common name |

Congrats you guys...
Wow, I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas to arrive. |
Thanks for clarifying the digital ID situation. How would I get a digital copy of my training certificate ? I didn't have Java up to date in my laptop the day I completed my training and had to leave without getting any help from my instructor with my application.

Arty, do you have a smartphone or other digital camera? You can simply take a close-up photo of it and attach the JPEG, or do what I did - convert the JPEG to a PDF and upload that.
Another option is someplace like Kinko's or Office Depot - they can scan things for a fee. |

I don't have a smartphone. But I do have a scanner connected to my computer. I didn't realize all I needed to do was upload a .jpeg of the cert. My instructors were giving assistance to applicants at the classroom, but virtually no instructions on how to do the application on our own at home. I didn't mean to hi-jack the OP's thread but maybe a lot of readers here will learn more in regards to the CCP. Thanks for the info.!!!

So is everyone that is receiving there licenses right now instructors?
Are they ahead of schedule?
If they submitted on 12/18 and they mailed on 3/1 thats what.... 75(ish) days. Do instructors have the same 90-120 day window as the rest of the IL surfs and peons? |
Didn't get mine today - NW suburban Cook. Hope to have it tomorrow.
Was approved on Friday, not sure what time, as I couldn't check until I got home in the early evening. |
Mine came in today also . Yes I am an instructor . But it seems non instructors have been receiving them as well
My uncle got his today (non-instructor) in Stephenson county.
My app went in the day after his, so I'll be checking the mail tomorrow with high hopes. |
Received mine Monday , applied 1/2 non instructor with prints.

Just curious for the guys who've received their licenses-any of you experience sudden road rage and an unquenchable urge to randomly kill folks? Seen blood in the streets, felt even a little like Wyatt Earp? Because I read that will happen....

I haven't been out of the house since I got mine. I'm almost afraid to leave home. Since I got my license it means others did too. I expect blood in the streets and fighting my way to work every morning. |

What ever you do...don't park in public parking spaces or bump a shopping cart into anyone...

Submitted 1/5 with no prints. I'm still under review. I'm fully expecting to be another month or 2.

My Wife and Father received theirs. Still waiting on mine. We all were approved on the 27th, applied 12/18 as instructors.
Knowing how bad my mail service is I may end up needing to call the state to get it sorted out. I get a random neighbors mail at least four days a week. I drop it off in their mailboxes but always wonder if I am missing some of my mail due to the idiot. |

Received my license in mail yesterday!!!! I am not an instructor. Completed my application on Jan 2. Looks like it was printed on Feb 28. I did submit fingerprints as the government already has mine..Never thought I would see the day in Illinois. I encourage all folks to come out to IGOLD today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
