It's hard to tell from the pic, but she looks like a skinny chocolate. Does it matter if she's not a purebred?

no I dont hunt so a pure breed is not needed, and from the emails she is black. I know it is up to me but I dont want a dog with a big body and short legs. I wish I could find a chocolate lab for around 300 or less. every where I have called is 700+

Be careful if you plan to buy from a breeded for that price. There are some breeders who might sell pups for $300 but I'd question the quality of their dogs. You might be best to look at rescue dogs in that price range.
Actually, some of the best behaved labs I've seen weren't very tall and they are husky with short snouts. I think those are more European bloodlines. |
