Went to GAT in Dundee over the weekend (08/04/13)

9mm Federal white box (range/target) ammo was $16.99 per box, many 1000's of rounds available.
45 ACP Remington UMC was $24.99 per box, quite a few boxes when I was there.
5.56 Federal XM193, $11.99 per box of 20.
5.56 XM855 Green Tip, 1000 round boxes available for $574.99.  I do NOT know if this is Lake City or not.

There is a new guns and ammo store that is supposed to be opening in Carterville (southern Illinois near Marion) today.  It is next to the " Your Jeweler" store.  I spoke to the owner and he told me he has 16,000+ rounds of .22lr.  I went by yesterday and they weren't open yet, but I could see some of it on the shelf through the window.  Happy hunting.

I didn't want to start my own thread since we have this one -

Long story short, I drive from Bolingbrook to Peoria once a week for work.

Are there any gun shops I should be visiting between here and there?

Specifically any that would carry powder and primers? I especially need to stock up on powder for .308 and 300 BLK.

Lastly, I was at Cabelas in Hoffman Estates this Saturday, they had LOTS of primers. Prices were in the low $30 range though. But they had CCI and others.

Peoria is slim pickins as far as powder goes. Bass Pro had a little RL15 and AR Comp last weekend. CCI, Remington, and Winchester primers of all sizes were stocked pretty good. The middle of the week is the time to visit.

I've somehow never noticed that they even keep any ammo behind the counter. I need to look harder.
