this thread is for all ammo and reloading component sightings. instead of 10 zillion threads on who has what and where it will be listed in this tacked thread. its upto members to check the date and times of all postings. the mods or any of us here don't have time to do maintenance on this thread. its just a place to share current sightings. the current ammo shortage will be easier to deal with if we share ammo and component location information between us.

NO STORE BASHING PLEASE!

Do they have a Storefront in Downers Grove? How do they work exactly? I'm not at all familiar with them.

Try Rink's Guns, 14363 South Archer Av., Lockport, IL.
Ph. 815-838-1371.

I was there yesterday - Sept.3rd, and they had a good supply of live ammo from individule boxes to cases.
They don't stock a whole lot of reloading equipment and what they have is LEE and Redding and once in awhile you'll see some 'good' used/like new stuff.
Far as primers, powders and bullets they stock the stuff when available.
A month or so ago I picked up 2000 SR primers and 4000 LP primers for about $29.50 per thou...not bad for 2009.
Rink's will order components but like everywhere else they come in when they come it.
Personally, I used to buy guns and related stuff from MegaSport until I remembered Rink's is 'still' there! Rink's has been in bussiness for so long that I fogot about them.
The last gun I bought at MegaSport (CZ75 SPO1 in 9mm) was tagged $635. The same pistol but 3 months later was at Rink's for $599! Darn it!
What you won't find at Rink's are sales people who are carrying guns, being aggressive or imposing as some of have seen at other gun stores. They don't pretend to know everything about everything guns or the related. Actually, they don't offer a whole lot of tech info. citing that there is just too much stuff to know it all.
Rink's is not the BIGBOX  type of store that Megasport, Cabella's, Bass Pro and the like are.
They are far more personalized and it don't take too many visits until they remember your name.
Rinks is located near I-355 and I-55.
Check'em out.

As of this week:

GAT Guns in Dundee has plenty of boxes of Federal Primers, not sure which exactly, but I think I personally saw Large Rifle at least.  They also have a decent selection of powders, though no Varget. :-(

Cabelas has some powders in stock, but not many.  No primers either, other than shotshell.  They do have a fair selection of brass, bullets, and reloading dies though.

GAT had an ample amount of powder(s).  They had the large and small rifle Champion Federal primers.  I think there was large pistol as well.  Looks like they are only stocking
Winchester projectiles, common calibers in stock, i.e. 9mm, .223, .45.

Plenty of ammo.  Prices still a little too high for my tastes, but they have it.  In fact they are remodeling their ammo section and cash register(s)?  At least the one closest to the range was moved.

Meijer in Bloomingdale, on Gary Ave. got a new shipment.  I was there today and saw a couple of boxes of WWB 100 rd in .45 and .40.  $47/box though, but I bought 2 of the .45

Also saw .22, .223, lots of other rifle calibers and a bunch of 12 ga.

FYI.

I was at Gander in Geneva last night (9/15).

They had tons of 9mm available, in various flavors (Fiocchi, Speer Lawman, Blazer, Blazer Brass), pricing was ok ($15 for the blazer brass).

They had many boxes of .40 in WWB.  They even had some .45 and .380, which may be the 1st time I've seen that anywhere since earlier this spring.  Plenty of .22LR was also available, of various brands.

There was a ton of .223 in stock, but the best pricing on it was around $0.50/round.

Methinks the ammo panic is over, we just need pricing to drop on the in-store .223; online it seems to be much better.

Farm N Fleet in Woodstock has a pretty good inventory.  Still lacking in some pistol calibers.  They had a bunch of Blazer aluminum.  44 Mag was reasonable!  Lots of 223.  I ain't buying.
Still too pricey for me, and I have no income!

Have at it!

Dicks in Lombard has plenty of 9mm, .40 and .45.   They also have .223.  The .45 in WWB was $26.## per box of 50.  They also have Remington 100 round boxes at aboutthat price as indicated by the counter person.  The WWB was suppose to be $33, but it rang up cheaper at the checkout.

I'm seeing more and more ammo available, but I haven't found any of that WWB .308!  Kinda want to go out to Buffalo before they closefor the winter and get some more trigger time with the 700 SPSV.

The Walmart on 53 and Butterfield has plenty of the 100 rd Federal boxes.
