Any locals with insight on living in Pahrump and how you would view the area for retirement? Positives and negatives. Thanks in advance.

If you are looking for somewhere quiet and not much to do than that is the place. Allot of shooting areas, basic stores, bigger lots if you have toys.

My ex and I considered buying property over there years ago.  Typical small town MYOB crowd.  There's a very small Commiefornia contingent down at the South end but they're so outnumbered they don't cause any trouble.  Plenty of good land can be had for pennies on the dollar.  Just be prepared to travel around the mountain to Vegas if you want to do any fine dining or serious shopping.
