New to state from VA and haven't shipped a handgun in a few years..if memory serves, needs to be FED EX overnight?  Someone that's done this recently, did the weight of the item@ the 24 hr rate roughly work out?

I've never used FedEx, always UPS. They stipulate that yes, has to be next day air.  Also, either the sender or receiver has to be an FFL.

UPS and FEDEX will only ship handguns overnight because they hire way too many thieves.
USPS allows dealers to ship to other dealers via priority mail.
Recipient needs to have an FFL, in all cases
