It is with a sad and with a heavy heart that I have to share the news that my nephew, Nathan Mahler, a USMC Combat Vet has taken his own life (at 26 years old).
PTSD is a vicious snake that will wrap itself around your neck and choke you to death slowly if you don't get help. I now have a name related to PTSD that is gone forever that means something to me PERSONALLY. I don't know if I have enough tears for this one. 
ETA: For date in title. ETA 2: Today we buried my Nephew, Nathan Daniel Mahler (Suicide Charley, 1/7) at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada. The Patriot Guard Riders and The Marine Corps Vets Motorcycle Group were there and we were ASTONISHED at how many bikers showed up in the heat. There are so many photos that were taken by a professional photographer that I can't begin think about posting them. Perhaps when I get the photos someone can post them for me. I'm sorry for your loss.
We are losing too many good people to this. Laws have to change to protect those who are brave enough to seek help. |

Sorry I couldn't be there. I ride with the patriot guard when possible but I have taken a ton of work off here recently taking my mother to Dr. Appts in preparation for her knee replacement at the end of the month. Again, sorry for your loss.
