I can't take them anymore, they're foaming at the mouth and spewing their venom and drivel to the entire professional staff.  I'm not tenured so job security prevents me from voicing my opinion in public

Please, be professional in your responses, but HIT THIS!

Edited to make link cold so we don't appear as the submitters, thanks for that suggestion.

Before I submit, are these "revisions" in each bill favorable to our community, or to the ban-lovers?

There were concessions added that we're trying to get thrown out, like the removal of K-12 and Daycare from Campus Carry.  This survey is just what Faculty Senate will be using to determine the majority view to draft their statement to the legislature.  Right now the most vocal of the libs are screaming about safety without realizing their every concern is already a reality.  The criminals will already have the guns on campus and it's already against the law!  If this survey reveals the majority are pro gun it will silence them or force them to outright lie, some more...

Hit. Yes on all four.

My written comment:

"There is a pesky little document called the Constitution. Lawmakers must honor their oaths and remember what the Constitution means and stands for.

Citizens should not have to give up their God-given right to self-defense because of feel-good legislation to appease the weak, while at the same time doing absolutely nothing to prevent criminals from committing heinous crimes against the community.

I vote Yes on all four bills."

Last day before this survey comes down in order to prepare their statement.  Thanks for all your support!

A local little birdy at TMCC called me last night to tell me that the anonymous survey of faculty was overwhelmingly in support of CCW on campus.

Results are public now.
The results were somewhat surprising (to me) and indicate there is not overwhelming support or opposition of faculty for any of the legislative bills in the survey. This is clearly a divisive issue and faculty are divided. Because of this the Senate is not planning on a resolution at this time. I still encourage all to let legislatures know how you (personally) stand on the bills.

Actually it was 60ish for and 40ish against guns on every question except SB143 which came in at 55% for and 45% against.  Thus, they take the above quoted stance.  All of the comments entered were also distributed with the poll results.  Funny the reasoned, common sense responses we supplied versus the "This is insane", "guns bad", "guns = I quit" statements from faculty.

I work there too, wish I could inject some common sense and reason into the "debate" but since I'm not tenured I can't afford the risk of losing my job over it. Kinda funny how all the enlightened, tolerant "progressives" commenting in the link are so INtolerant of those who disagree with them. I guess I'm stupid, mentally ill, and compensating for personal inadequacies just because I believe the Constitution means what it says. Sad days for America, or should I spell it "amerika"...
