Hey all. My family and I are heading out west to LV to watch the Cubs Athletics spring game and visit some friends next week. I was wondering if my 4" folding knife if permissible.  I recently discovered that NV doesn't recognize MO CCW but it does work the other way around.  Thanks for any info or links you may have.

City and County Knife Laws
In the absence of a state preemption statute, Nevada counties and municipalities are free to enact knife laws which are more restrictive than state law. Very few have done so. Those which have include Clark County and the cities of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, and Reno. Following are synopses of these jurisdictions' knife laws; links to the relevant ordinances can be found below.
Clark County - Prohibits concealed knives with blades longer than three inches. No limitation on blade length for knives carried openly.
Las Vegas - Prohibits concealed knives with blades longer than three inches. Does not limit blade length for openly carried knives. Prohibits switchblades or automatic opening knives with blades of any length. Prohibits any person from loitering, fighting, or engaging in disorderly conduct while carrying a concealed "deadly weapon" as defined by city ordinance.
North Las Vegas - Prohibits concealed knives with blades longer than three inches. No limit on blade length for knives openly carried. Prohibits any switchblade or automatic opener, regardless of blade length. Prohibits the carry of ice picks or "similar sharp stabbing tools" and straight razors. Prohibits loitering, fighting, or disorderly conduct while carrying any concealed weapon.
Henderson - Prohibits concealed carry of knives with blades longer than three inches. Prohibits the possession of any knife "commonly known as a switchblade, spring-blade or push button knife," with no limitation on blade length.

i haven't measured my pocket knife it might be 3.5" i used to clip it on my belt but i lost a nice one that way so now i clip it inside my pocket with the clip on the outside...

ETA: you can also open carry a firearm as well as keep a firearm concealed in your vehicle not on your person. I would not open carry in a tourist area or casino. Most casinos would promptly ask you to leave.

Great question, and excellent reply.   I am in town for a few days visiting from Alaska.  I thought ahead and left my auto at home and just brought my Benchmade 300 flipper which I will keep clipped on my pocket.  I am originally grew up in Fallon, but I sure love the freedoms like auto knives and constitutional carry we enjoy in AK.

I don't think concealed is defined anywhere in the mentioned statutes... I suppose that could end up being officer discretion if they think it is concealed. I can tell you I have carried my knife for a couple years that way living here in that time i was pulled over once in clark county for failing to signal and when the officer asked if i had anything illegal in the car i told him "i have a knife clipped on my pocket but I don't think that's illegal."He just said he didn't care about that.
