Hi everyone,

Need your help!  The VA has stopped sending flags to the cemetery to honor veterans. The manager at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV says they have reached a point where they will have to stop offering them to the families.  There is no excuse for this because the money was budgeted by congress. I am asking everyone to contact both senators and both members of congress letting them know how much of an outrage this is.  Please contact all 4 of them and have your friends as well.  If you are a member or the VVA, American Legion or VFW please pass it to everyone at your post.  If is critical that we make this injustice go viral.

The issue concerning flag availability at the Boulder City Vet’s Cemetery has been addressed by several agencies including Senator Dean Heller’s office. We had every reason to believe the information we passed on was accurate and that it came from a reliable source. Whether it was the many responses received by our elected officials after the information was released or for whatever reason it appears this is not an issue. Hi Stormy,
I just spoke with Glenna Smith (Senator Dean Heller’s Veteran liaison here in Reno) about the flag situation. Glenna assured me this is bogus information coming from someone in the southern part of the state and there is absolutely no truth to the flag shortage story. The VA in Washington DC has a half a million flags ready to ship wherever they are needed in the country and the Southern Nevada Memorial Cemetery said they do not have any shortage of flags either. Senator Heller is going to be releasing information addressing this story and they have a good idea who started it and will try to get to the bottom of it. They had many people responding to the story from the AL, VFW and PGR and they want to assure us that it is not true. I just wanted to fill you in what I was able to find out from our end. Let me know if you hear anything different.
