It's been years since I've done a transfer and will have a SIG inbout to NFA soon. What's the protocol / lowdown on how it's done there?

Their web site has a scan of their license, but it expires August 1, 2012. So I e-mailed NFA with the dealer's fax number and requested they fax them the new FFL or extension letter - as soon as the dealer gets that he can ship.

When you know the firearm arrived at NFA, do you call them? Or wait for them to contact you?

Just curious.

I've received several transfer guns through NFA. All went great, smooth, fair prices and they always called me the day my guns arrived. They are very much GTG.

I am in the process now. I emailed NFA with the particulars, weapon make and model, who it was being shipped from and my name and number and asked for a confirmation they received my email and to call whenthe item arrives.

got the call yesterday, showed up when they opened saturday morning. half a dozen customers in and they had a representative for each it seemed. got asked if i was being helped several times. Mark took care of me - very smooth transaction - i highly recommend them. I've found a new FFL.
