Griffin in Dousman area (with a possible future plan for Ixonia [NW Oconomowoc]) needs a new second shift Mill turn machinist / multi axis machine operator. We would prefer to hire a settup operator because we appreciate that level of knowledge and skill, but would also be willing to consider smart skilled machine operators who have reached a level of skill where they are:
Hard working, effective communicators who respect and work well with others
who have a clean criminal history
Familiar with Fanuc controls and functional in the fanuc turning control environment.
Able to use measuring tools and keep parts running to quality (input tool wear offsets and change inserts)
Able to use the various controls and features of the machine safely to re-aquire an operation in the code of the program and safely control the machine approach in a proven program and settup without collision events
Experienced and able to feed hold a machine if a manufacturing process becomes unstable
Possessing a basic understanding of G & M codes such that they can if necessary read and articulate what the program is going to do.
If we were able to get a smart candidate into this position who was not a settup operator, but was able to successfully run production using the skills listed above; that person would be considered for development to a point where they could possess a higher level of skills.

We would appreciate it if candidates did not attempt to oversell themselves, and were certain that they were interested in the machine operator job prior to contacting us. Occasionally we interview applicants who are already mentally reaching the end of their career involvement in the position we are interviewing for, or who want to be engineers or something else, and that doesn't help us fill the position we actually have available and need to fill.
