Sort of a catch all thread here.  Anyone up in the Fox Lake/Montello area have any report on acorns dropping yet or not?

Also, I'd like to have a decent taxidermist in my back pocket that's in the Racine area just encase.  Willing to drive an hour or two out to get to him/her.  We have a few bucks on trail camera this year that I'd definitely be wanting on the wall and I'd be willing to pay a bit of a premium for good work.

As for the butcher I'd be looking for something closer to home.  Anyone know of any cheap butchers in Milwaukee/Racine/Kenosha area?  I don't need anything fancy but I have a lot going on right now and we are building a boat.  If it's raining on the day we have to butcher the deer it's a no go because we can't have the boat out in the rain yet so no room in the garage.  Don't need any jerky or anything like that, I can do that myself, just need burger/steak/roasts.

If you are willing to drive, Bucky's is the #1 in the state and probably one of the best in the nation. Jeff does mounts for the big guys like Bass Pro and Cabela's along with many of the famous deer you see featured in magazines like Deer and Deer Hunting.

My family's land is in Montello so we usually drop our deer off at http://www.pernats.com/ on the way home and then just pickup next time we drive back up north.  I have had hot sticks from all over Wisconsin and this place is the best!  Well worth the drive.

Pernats rocks! The only place I'll go too!
Jalapeño and cheddar hot sticks, sweet and spicey also rock!

Can't find any info on his site on prices.  Any clue what he charges for a mount?  If I stuck a monster I'd strongly consider the added cost that I'm sure he charges given his talent level but I don't have the funds to get too crazy.

As for butchers I wouldn't pay to get anything special done.  Just want a butcher in my back pocket encase I stick something and don't have the time to butcher it myself.
