Hi guys. Looking to do my first machine gun transfer. I have a letter from the area sheriff stating I am ok to own a machine gun. is this letter a blanket statement or is one needed for each MG. Any knowledgeable input would be appreciated.

No, you just need the sheriff to certify your form 4 (even if you go trust).  No separate letter needed.

Also, if it's not a pistol caliber mg , no certification needed using a trust.

Well this is new.
JB VanHollen reinterpreted WI MG requirements for the ATF about 3 years ago, making letters required.
