There is a new indoor range opening in Richfield across the road from the Cabela's.  Looks promising, single, couple, and family memberships available.  Can shoot up to .50 BMG, $10 FFL transfers. Opening sometime in November.

Seems odd

There is info and rules on the website.  If you click on one of the membership options, detailed information is available. On the main page of the website there is a list of main points, one of them says calibers up to .50cal can be used.

We needed this in Southeast Wisconsin pretty bad.  I am happy to see it.

Just wish there were more options for bringing a non-family guest to the range.

They have single day guest passes for members and they'll be open to the public(i assume they'll offer single day passes for the public). I think that's pretty good. Can't hurt to offer them some input though.

Does anyone know the reasoning behind the no steel cased ammo rule?

Proposed rates

$20/hour standard lanes

$30/hour premium lanes w/ManCom targeting systems

My guess is they want the brass for reselling and don't want to bother with steel case?

In fact, whats their rules on brass? They aren't going to be one of those "brasshole" ranges that insist ALL brass is theirs, are they?

Just guessing, but it could be because a lot of steel cased ammo also has steel in the jacket, and they might be worried about more damage to the backstop, or recycling issues.

Got answer about the brass and steel cased. They said steel cased is allowed but no steel core and you will be allowed to pickup your own brass.

How do they tell what is steel core? Magnet? You know that doesn't work.
