http://www.bullpupshoot.com [email protected] Want to shoot guns? Want to shoot zombies? Want to shoot full auto weapons? Then BULLPUP SHOOT 2014 is for you! WHEN: September 27th, 2014 9am to 5pm WHERE: Aurora Sportsmen's Club 7641 Rueff Rd. Waterman, Illinois 60556 COST: FREE to enter, visit the vendors, and check it out! $35 to participate in multi-stage zombie shoot with your own rifles, pistols and shotguns and ammunition. (Pre-register at http://www.thezombieshoot.com for only $25!) Full auto and rare weapons available to try out at two locations on the range for cost of supplied ammo. Aurora Sportsmen's Club (ASC) and Bullpup Shoot have partnered up to host a dual event this year at the Aurora Sportsmen's Club range in Waterman Illinois. The event will feature a multi-stage Zombie Shoot where you bring your own firearms and fight stage after stage to survive the zombie hordes, including a ride in an armored vehicle down the length of the 600 yard range to shoot targets on the move! The event is very popular and fills up fast, and we HIGHLY recommend pre-registering at http://www.thezombieshoot.com for this part of the event. Eye and ear protection are required, $25 pre-registration, $35 day of the event. Some stages will have firearms and ammunition available in case you don't have your own. In addition, two bays this year will feature a host of full auto, suppressed, and rare weapons supplied by Vendors that you can try out. Want to shoot a machinegun? Want to shoot a suppressed subgun? Want to shoot a belt fed weapon? This is your chance! A host of Vendors will be on site under "the big tent" including Manticore Arms Inc., RATWORX, IWI USA, Steyr USA, K&M Aerospace, and many others. Vendors will have new products on display and a host of items on sale including bullpup rifles and accessories (all Illinois and federal laws apply). Now for those wondering, what exactly is a bullpup rifle? A bullpup rifle is simply a rifle where the magazine and action of the rifle are behind the pistol grip and trigger instead of in front. This allows the rifle to be much shorter while still having all the features of a "standard" rifle. Bullpup Shoot is dedicated to getting together the newest, coolest, and best out there in the bullpup rifle world all in one place at one time! Concessions will be available for purchase by South Moon Barbeque and Pub West including BBQ, pizza, sandwiches, and beverages. Accommodations are available at the Super 8 in Dekalb, Illinois at an event rate of $65+tax per night on Friday Sept. 26th and Saturday Sept. 27th. When you book your reservation just let them know you are part of the Bullpup Shoot for the event rate. Dekalb Super 8 Motel 800 W. Fairview Dr. (Near junction of Interstate I-88 and Annie Glidden Rd) Dekalb, IL 60115 Phone: 1-815-748-4688 Fax: 1-815-748-4688 For additional info please visit http://www.bullpupshoot.com or email us at [email protected] |

Just mentioning that for the last couple years, it's been held in KY. Come on out and keep it where it started.

Plan on it.
If the rest of you guys are thinking, "Hey, I don't ahve a bullpup, cause I've never shot one", this is your chance to play with them. I'll let anyone shoot my stuff, and I'm sure most of the other shooters would be in the same boat. Bring factory ammo, and you have the chance to shoot the whole gamut of modded and unmodded bullpups. What better place to try them all out? |

[#4]
I'll hopefully be there with an A2 I'm in the process of picking up.

Bullpups leave nasty burn marks on my cheek... yup, I shoot left-handed.

Only a couple hours away? Yep, I'll be there. Party bus, stripped uppers and lowers tour post event? |

Yup, I know there are exceptions for lefties, but most that I've seen are right side ejection, especially in conversions to bullpup. You would think that all military issue bullpup designs would be ambi capable, and I believe they are. The Steyr Aug for example, can be set up for lefties (by changing the bolt). So can the Tavor. But both require partial disassembly, not field expediant. "The rifle (Steyr Aug) is fully ambidextrous. It can be configured for use by left-handed shooters by simply changing the bolt for a left-handed one with the extractor and ejector on opposite sides, and moving a blanking cap from the left ejection opening to the right." |

Not trying to derail the thread, but I know I'm not the only lefty here... and not being shy I brought it up, and I'm done being a pain in the ass. The event sounds like a lot of fun, wish I could attend and catch some brass with my big mouth, and shoot some belt-fed toys too But that's opening weekend of duck season up north, and I'll be busy. |

If anybody shoots left handed stop on by and ask about the Left Handed Tavor's.
Let us know what you are looking for and we will get it for you. We are the largest bullpup retailer and accessory dealer in SE Wisconsin. If you have any questions give us a call, send us an email, or stop by. Thank You Troy MI |

This looks like a lot of fun, and I'm definitely considering coming down.
I do have a somewhat dumb question though, what would be the legalities of a WI resident coming to IL for this with guns if we want to participate? What are the things we can/cannot do/bring with us as far as firearms are concerned? |

We don't have reciprocity for Conceal Carry, otherwise there aren't really any laws to be worried about. Just keep firearms cased and unloaded for transport per Illinois State Police, and I would generally avoid Cook County if possible (on the highway you should be fine, just don't go stop in the Loop and wave your gun around) and you are good to go. Any other questions please feel free to ask! |

I guess some research is in order. |

According to the IL regs, that should be sufficient, but it's not worth the time and effort to pursue. |
