So no questions asked means anyone can participate, not just IL residents?
If I walk up and "pretend" to be afraid of guns and hand them an arm load of cheap shit that technically functions, they are going to hand me $100 visa per gun? This is an entitlement program I can get behind. I drive an F-150 Supercrew. I can comfortably transport 4 adults and a truck load of guns to this next year. Technically this could be a great investment. |

From my grandfather's estate I have a no-name .32 revolver from the 1900's that's so beat up it won't even lock and a DAO Iver Johnson that's got a trigger pull worse than a Nagant in DA and is so out of time it shaves .22's in half when trying to fire them. I shot it once for S&G's and lead flakes went flying around and cut my face. But all the buybacks in the MKE area I've seen to date have been cheap ones for $5-25 Walmart gift cards, or coupons for shoes and what not. |

I'm keeping the M1 Carbine, the 1873 Springfield Trapdoor, the 1911, the Pattern 1917, the Winchester 1890, and the .44 Lefaucheux pinfire, the S&W 66, and the S&W 60... Relax okay? Oh, don't forget to take the soapbox with you. Someone might trip over it. Thanks. |

I've got a spanish mauser in .308 I was going to sporterize. Removed the sights (permenantly), forstock handguard, etc. threw em away.
Then I lost interest when I saw what iron sights were going to cost, even though I looked at this as a "gunsmithing experience" project. I didn't want to put a lot of money in it. Plus the vague low pressure limitation put a damper on my enthuaism. Thought that might be a good candidate for a buyback, after I remove the bolt. |

If I take 3 or 4 POS guns that have zero value, even if they belonged to one of my Grandfathers, and invested that $400 in AR's for my Grandchildren (so they could defend themselves and possibly this country) I am sure they would both love that fact. Better to have a new AR than a 100 year old single shot shotgun, assuming it works. Not all guns can be repaired and after you haul them all over the country with you for a few decades they lose their luster. The first thing both my Grandfathers did when they got here was sign up with the Army to get their hands on better guns so they could go back and kill the Muslims that ran them out. I never knew either of them, nothing was passed down to me and I found them when we cleaned out an old family home. A photo op only means something if you let it have meaning. I would argue the photo op of showing how we raped the system and legally took the money to use it for guns for children is a better photo op. |

I just heard from a friend, who does not live in either IL or WI. One year in his State during a buy back, he dumped a few hundred guns and because he is also an FFL he also walked the line of people waiting and offered them more money then the buy back on certain guns. They also now limit how many guns one individual can turn in.
I know buying and selling guns in IL is a process in itself, but if programs like that are ever run here in WI, I would suggest people go walk the lines and make some offers. That is another way to exploit the program. |

Mosins are cheap but if it still works well I see no reason to destroy it. I can understand if the Mosin is all rusted to crap or shoots horribly or something else is wrong with it. The majority of the Mosins from AIM and other places are actually in relatively decent condition that would not warrant their destruction. |
