Just picked up a complete lower from Rainier Arms yesterday

LRB lower + STAG/CMT LPK.

When I got it back did some dry firing drills to test trigger. I noticed that when I pull the trigger then cycle the bolt to reset trigger that afterwards when I let pressure off trigger, it would fire while I was relieving pressure from the first pull. It would do this everytime.

Is something wrong with the fire control unit? I have a Giessele S3G coming in the mail sometime next week, will this fix the problem?

Gun does something like this, but with every cycle.

Thanks,
Kevin

New trigger will fix the problem.

MORE THAN LIKELY it is a spring problem, or the trigger/hammer is bad.

ETA: Yes, something is definitely wrong with your FCG. I would contact Rainier about it.

ETA3: I would take it apart if I was you, and definitely don't take it to the range like that. Could cause some problems... legal ones...

Yeah I'm not going to fire it. It is going straight to my local gunsmith when my Gieselle Trigger comes in on Tues or Wednesday. That will fix it right? I should have them swap the disconnector spring and bolt hold open spring back too right?

I would think with a new trigger you're GTG.

Archer: No, Cyril, when they’re dead, they’re just hookers!

I had Mega lowers that did the same thing. You know the disconnector is catching the hammer disconnector hook because it holds when you keep the trigger held back. The problem is the reset release.

The most likely culprit would be the trigger nose (too short) or hammer trigger notch (not cut deep enough).

I switched out the LPKs (Colt Mfr.) and the same thing happened. I check two other lowers with the same incident replicating itself.

The problem was the hammer and trigger holes were drilled a tiny bit off (spread). LPKs were fine, the lowers were drilled out of spec..

I had to return all of the lowers.

They made good, so I was happy.

Just a possibility to check.

What was an o-ring doing in the FCG?
Its not the guy that walks in with a gun and says he is going to start shooting that you have to worry about.
Its the guy that just walks in and just starts shooting.

I have no idea. I have nothing on the gun that uses O Rings. I guess it somehow found its way in there when the gunsmith at Rainier Arms was putting it together?

My guess is someone put it around the rear takedown lug on the upper to take up the slop.
