I own an M&P AR15, and I happen to love it. Shoots like a dream. I'd like to hear more about the 15/22 series. Let me know how it shoots.

I have a 15/22 and I absolutely love that rifle. I got the one that has the birdcage flash hider, In my opinion it looks nicer than the version without it.
These guns will pretty much digest anything that you can feed it but I feed mine the CCI Tactical 22lr and the Winchester M-22 for the AR type 22's. Mine loves both kinds. Magazines are in abundance for these they usually run about 19.99 each, if you look around the internet you can find a damn good price on them. I know Midway USA carries them for 16.99 they are fun to shoot and inexpensive to feed so, there is no downside to buying one. |

They also make a performance version with a fluted barrel, vltor mod stock, hogue grip and some other nice additions if you're planning to go the more advanced M&P 15-22 route. I was looking at one myself but can't justify it at the moment when I have a 10/22 with marauder kit. Though I'm definitely looking at one around Christmas time.
Let us know what you choose and how it works for you. |

I got my M&P1522 the other day and finally got it out to the range tonight for just a quick shoot, couple magazines and it was a blast. I think I found my new toy fun, cheap and easy to shoot. Unique1 I think you are in the area if you ever want to try shooting just let me know, I am in Cottage Grove.

I'd love to shoot that fine iron. Been thinking about one for quite a while. Not in a position to buy one at the moment, but looking and shooting might make sense. Thanks. |

If I didn't have my GSG5 I'd pick up a 15/22, but instead I grabbed a CMMG conversion.... LOVE IT so much fun on the cheap!

I've got both I don't have to worry about that, I replaced every internal screw, HK push pins, and Delrin Buffer insert, she shoots like a champ. Would I take a 15/22 over it, sure, but why when I have it and my CMMG coversion and they both work. |

Well now, I'm gonna blame this thread for ordering a Magtech Nomad (G36 lookalike) stock kit for my 10/22. And a black dog 50 round drum.
And I want a 2nd 10/22 so I can do a liberty training rifle conversion on it. |

I swapped out all the screws in mine too, but I still worry after damn near loosing the take-down plate screw at the range once. Whoever designed the insides of that thing must really only work on airsoft guns or something... ![]() |

I'll agree the insides of that thing just scream airsoft. But I have thousands of rounds through mine and the only issues I've ever had after mods are using stingers, for some reason it doesn't like them. But Federal bulk, it eats that stuff for breakfast.

When I bought my CMMG .22 conversion kit for my AR it came with a small piece of paper inside. On the paper it basically said to use Federal Bulk pack ammo. I did. And it runs great! My buddy tried to run Remington in his, no go. Switched him over to Federal, no issues. And I used to think Federal ammo was junk. Not anymore. I really need to find a place to plink .22's again. I do miss shooting them. |

From what I've been reading, the promag magazine that will come with my Nomad stock, and the Black Dog 50 round drum, both run more reliably on quality .22 ammo, with the federal being in the mix.
I stopped at my local farm&fleet today looking for a gas cap for my mower, and checked out the ammo. The fed .22 was on sale, and sold out. :( |

Yeah it's the GSG that likes everything I've tried in it but the Stingers, my CMMG likes everything but the Winchester Super X/M-22 branded stuff, had some blowouts and bulged cases. So I usually pick up 2-3 525 round Fed Bulk boxes for a day of shooting and shoot both guns and not worry :) My P-22 also used to love Fed Bulk |

Winchester Super-X sent my entire 15-22 back to S&W for a week... blew out the extractor. |
