Any specific type of food are you looking for? Normally I'd say get some Rudy's BBQ but since you're from Texas you can get that anytime. Black Bear is pretty good and not high priced.

Here ya go OP:  Best of the Springs

Some I've eaten at, most I have not.  YMMV.

If you've never been here before ... the North gate @ PAFB is closed on the weekends.  PAFB is quite a bit east of I-25.  Follow GPS and/or signs for the West gate off of Powers Blvd, most likely the way you'll be traveling if coming from TX.

I heard about The Brunch there, but way too expensive for us.

We're coming from Durango, but I'm sure we'll find it. I do appreciate the warning about the gate though

Luna's Market on South Academy if you are into Mexican food. It's my #1 joint according to my Yelp activity

Colorado Mountain Brewery on Interquest but I prefer the location in Manitou Springs

Jack Quinns Irish Pub if you find yourself downtown. Sundays is a good day

Alchemy if you find yourself in Old Colorado City

Rocky Mountain Brewery because of their Food Truck in the parking lot (super close to Petersons Gate

Bubba's 33 if you like sports with your meal

I'll admit, I do like bar food

Roman Villa

Best pizza ever! They also have other Italian dishes if you're into that.

Family owned and operated since 1959, one of those little hole in the wall places that has awesome food.

3005 N Nevada Ave, open Tues-Sat 5-9pm

Urban Steam, if you're ok with being surrounded by douchebags.  The food is outstanding though

OP, i got an odd suggestion for you.

Saigon Grill. (Really, really authentic Vietnamese)

Family owned an operated, authentic, amazing, great service.  Ask for Thai Iced Tea, and take a minute to look over the appetizer menu.

Crave Burger. It's awesome. Can't believe it took this long!

Edelweiss is great German Food

Jake and Telly's is great Greek food.

Too bad you don't' like beer, we have some good spots for brews in the springs.

I'm also a fan of Summit (at the Broadmoor) if you want something a bit more high-end- and it's a good place to visit anyway.
