I need to replace a barrel nut for a new rail and I left all my AR tools in Texas.

I can trade a 6-pack of your favorite brew for a little time on your workbench!

I'm not interested in the fees and turnaround time of a gunsmith, no offense.

I just need to swap out a barrel nut, that's all. Maybe 10 min of work, if that.

Then buy your own tools and call it good. For what a ^^smith^^ i know would probably charge, you'd be cheaper going to him then buying the parts.

I have my own tools, they're just not with me, and to ship them is going to cost much more than it will take to perform this work.

I'm literally attempting to buy/barter for time on someone's bench. I don't need someone to do it for me, and I'm not going to buy a vise, barrel nut wrench, torque wrench etc just to return them a few minutes later.

If you can help me, I would very much appreciate it.

Odd, your going to make a comment about fees and turnaround time without contacting the entity in question.

Try down on 44th Avenue between Kipling and Wadsworth, there is a well known gunshop down there. They may have some tools lying around.
They certainly won't be needing them anymore......

LOL. Drove past there today but didn't stop. Some paperwork was taped to their door and the parking lot was empty except for a giant green unmarked trailer in the parking lot. Never watched their show and probably won't until Netflix picks it up so I can watch it for free. Maybe ATF will get the rights and redistribute the show? Socialism!!
