I'm pretty sure that the demopublicans don't understand that a good, but unfortunately shrinking portion of people in this state have more or less have a "live and let live" attitude.

... and FMM.

fuck Merrifield

the district he won (Morse's) covers southern Colo. Spgs and Manitou Spgs.

Manitou is a lot of lib hippies and the southern side of the Spgs has a lot of minorities, mostly Hispanic.

in the article he says that at the door he had to argue the gun debate.  In his ads he didn't bring up the gun debate,
his ads were all - I want to work for you, we need better schools, more jobs, etc.  the typical Dem template ad.

Merrifield has held a state office in the past - State Rep? and I think he was term limited.  the Dems pulled him back in to run for the State Sen office.  He is a practiced, polished, smooth talking politician that ran against a weak candidate -  Bernie Herpin.

In reality, we may not have won the recall against Morse if we had used the voting methods that are gaining in popularity today.
because of all the legal wrangling in the courts about the recalls and election deadlines, they couldn't use a mail in vote and we had to go to polling places and vote with paper ballots.

What a shit-show that was.  SCDontTreadOnMe flat-out warned the GOP and the AFP guy sent to "help" us that mail-in ballots were the devil and that the yellow cards sent to multiple addresses left us completely vulnerable to voter fraud.  They all but laughed at him and essentially said, "Well, you're welcome to come to the Springs and pick them all up yourself, har, har, har."  Then we watched our lead evaporate when votes were "magically discovered" at the very end, and barely nailed the bastard.  Meanwhile, SC gave the same warning to the Pueblo crew, they acted on it and secured their rear.

And for the record, the Libertarians were the ones who warned us about the potential exposure, and who were responsible for the aforementioned legal wrangling that saved our fucking bacon when the GOP merely laughed us off.  Yet hardly anyone knows, or gives them any credit.

Shit. Show.

But Panhandle, consider this an official thank you for getting off your ass and making this happen with us.  The one upside about this mess is is separated the doers from the talkers.
