Howdy. After years of planning the wife and I finally escaped the not-so-great state of CA. We are currently living in Golden, and looking to buy a home in the Evergreen/Conifer area by year's end.

Are there any good private outdoor ranges in the area? I am very interested in joining a members-only range hopefully with rifle targets at least to 200 yards.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

1st welcome, 2nd what part of CA you relocate from ? I know where there's a nice home in Conifer, if it wasn't sold yet.
3rd......................................
There's 2 - 3 threads on ranges, places to shoot. Up where you want to eventually move, is Dumont. You're very limited to outdoor ranges close to you. It's not like living in the Hesperia / Victorville area and driving over to The Apple Valley Range.

Thank you! I relocated from San Diego where I had lived for almost 30 years. Good to be in a free state.

I shoot at Colorado rifle club. Very nice ranges, all the way out to 1k yards. Let me know if you have specific questions

There are quite a few indoor and out door ranges to be found some member only(with waiting list) some public (Random googling found the links below).  Then there are places like NRA whittington Center in Raton NM which realistically is not that far if you are making a weekend of it for competition.
http://crci.org/   <---I'm a member here, and as an outdoor range to suit your needs this would fit nicely however it is a solid hour plus east of you.  Worth the drive in my opinion.  You can check their website for the next new member orientation to check the place out.

Thanks for the great list! I will look into applying at Colorado Rifle Club, Boulder Rifle Club, and Weld County. Those drives wouldn't be too bad.

CRC is a great range, a little fudd tastic with steel on the 1000 yard range, but they are working on it.  Overall it's the best range in the state in my opinion.

Pawnee Sportsmans Center is great, and has a steel garden with targets all the way out to 1k.

Boulder Rifle Club has a million year waiting list.

People have already put holes in a good percentage of the steel the Club invested in, can not say I blame them at times.
