One thing I recall well was that very often (as in other places) the Colorado GOP was its own worst enemy. Then there were always libertarians and that bunch around, often even calling themselves conservatives (which they were and are not, sorry if I offend).
A guiding principle to follow is that conservatives who take stands on principle and run competent campaigns tend to win elections. Moderates tend to lose. This is supported by empirical results, not theory. This is especially true in elections like 2014 when the libs are exceptionally vulnerable with people like Barry as their national symbol.
I guess what is sad is that even I (a rank amateur) would know enough not to be associiated with the likes of Chris Christie and be relatively mute on key issues that conservatives in Colorado want addressed. It's ok to have fat guy from Jersey and fellow establishment types come support you, but you also have to speak to the issues that are salient in the fight for our national and State identity.
My family knows BB, he is a nice guy, but the bozo hickenpooper had to go, it's too bad. He should have gone with the wave.
